Good fats &amp; bad fats: There are good fats and bad fats just as there are good carbs and bad carbs.  Your nervous system needs good fats such as those found in oily fish like salmon and tuna to work properly.  These fish are high in Omega 3 essential fatty acids which help to decrease inflammation as well as lower cholesterol levels.

Cholesterol: Regardless of what the media seem to portray and how foods are marketed cholesterol is about your genetics by significant amounts than your diet.  I cannot imagine a healthy young male at age 17 having any effect on their cholesterol from this normal diet.

Red herring?: U struggle w/panic ; anxiety, so i'm wondering if panic about medical problems -incl your cholesterol lab- is something u've experienced before. If so, i suspect medical info (e.g., http://bit.Ly/r0blv4) won't help u a) put this lab result in perspective ;/or b) try other ways 2 reduce LDL ; raise HDL ("bad" ; "good" cholesterol). If my hunch is right, consider an anxiety specialist who uses cbt!

Overweight/eats well: The extra 10 lb may be a matter pr portion size, lack o or inadequate aerobic exercise or both.  The fish oil  can wait.

All fine: Not much evidence to support B6 or E for cholesterol lowering, but probably won't hurt you.  Some people believe in Niacin (B3) but others don't.

Not really: Your liver increases your production of cholesterol, not necessarily the food you eat. Cholesterol is the building block of all hormones in the body and is necessary for life. However high cholesterol or very low cholesterol is not ideal. High cholesterol must be balanced with good cholesterol (HDL) so that it can be removed from the body. Fish oil has good omegas 3's for our body.
