can i take ashwagandha herb capsules for stress/anxiety/panic attacks long term? i'd like to balance cortisol levels and thyroid/testosterone. high stress has thrown me out of balance. can i take it for 3 months plus? thank you for the help?

No: Ashwagandha is a common herb in ayurvedic medicine.  It has a variety of uses -- much to do with adapting to stress.  Some use it for anti-anxiety properties, but it does not have research supporting any prevention of panic attacks. can i use the supplement rhelora or holy basil or rhodiola to lower cortisol levels to help  manage high anxiety and panic attacks along with the meds i am already taking- paxil 40 mg and effexor 112 mgs. plus my seditives  or ashwagandha?

I am not: trying to discount the beneficial effects of many herbal remedies however , my opinion only, you are taking far too many of these preparations and seem to be on mostly PSYCHO-ACTIVE drugs ...a frank discussion with your Primary Care Physician re: your present condition and perhaps a consultation with a PSYCHO-PHARMACOLOGIST is indicated!

However, also consider meditation, exercise, counseling &homeopathy. Sedating : This may be an okay combination depending on your specific condition. There is no significant drug-drug interaction. But both can be sedating, cause somnolence and lead to impaired cognition. My concern is that at 21  you're taking 2 mg of xanax (alprazolam) and your profile also indicates klonipin. This need more in debt analysis than can be provided here. See your doctor for further evaluation.
