i got pneumonia and doctor prescribed me robitussin ac but not working much. is it ok if i switched to robitussin dm (guaifenesin and dextromethorphan). what is the difference in dm n a?

DM has: dextromethorphan which is a cough suppressant.  AC just means there is codeine included, a narcotic suppressant.  Pneumonia needs to be treated with antibiotics and expectorant, along with anti-inflammatory medicines.  You can take the DM but it is unlikely to be more effective than with codeine.  You can try a formulation with Hydrocodone like Tussionex or TussiCaps.

Probably : Remember Robitussin (guaifenesin) mainly works by irritating the stomach to stimulate secretions. Taking more often than 6 hours my lead to stomach upset, so you might want to wait a little longer than 4 hours.

???????: This is available without prescription for $5 to $10 for a large bottle.Brands include Robitussin and Mucinex (guaifenesin). Get the generic, which does the same thing for less cost. Look up price on line and compare to the price in your super market or pharmacy. You can get liquid or tablets.

can i take mucinex (guaifenesin) for sinusitis? if not is there any other over-the-counter medicine alternative to clindomycin?

They're different.: Clindamycin is an antibiotic that is not commonly used for initial treatment of sinusitis. Mucinex (guaifenesin) is a medication that may help you because it loosens thick mucus. Also try a decongestant like pseudoephedrine (e.g., Sudafed) and saline sinus rinses for best results. It is not recommended to start antibiotics for sinusitis unless not improving after 7 days.

Yes: Benzonatate is the active ingredient in Tessalon. It works by numbing the throat and upper respiratory tree.There is no conflict.

i have severe chest tightness from certain otc meds: tylenol (acetaminophen) cold & sinus, robitussin-dm are a few. no doctor/pharmacist seems to answers for me. help?

Not sure: Not sure why this is happening. As such there is no chemical in them which could potentiate chest pain but sometimes the way of taking these medications could cause some chest tightness. Will recommend taking it with a full glass of water.

is it ok to continue taking metformin even if i don't have polycystic ovaries anymore? is it true it counters the effect of otc pills (weight gain)

Yes: If you have Insulin resistance or even diabetes metformin is fine to take.  Some people have lost weight on metformin, perhaps due to GI side effects.  I haven't heard that it can interfere with diet pills but those can be dangerous on their own.
