i'm on day 1 of taking omeprazole for chronic acid reflux but it hasn't started working yet. is it safe to additionally take antacids with this drug?

Yes: go ahead and take the antacids especially if you know it works.  It can take awhile to get relief.  The inflammation can take several months to heal.  Also don't smoke or use nicotine, caffeine or decaf coffee, reduce to an optimal weight and elevate the head of your bed 4-6 inches on an incline so that the acid at night stays away form the esophagus.  The body makes the most acid at night

can i take allegra (fexofenadine) and omeprazole together? it said not to take magnesium antacids with allegra (fexofenadine).

Ok: There's no problem with taking Allegra (fexofenadine) and Omeprazole together.  Neither of them contain aluminum.

i have been prescribed omeprazole for gastritis related to nsaid use,  i can't tolerate the omeprazole does the use of antacids treat gastritis??

PPIs work best: Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) like omeprazole have proven benefit in protecting the stomach from NSAID ulcers, though with chronic use they become less effective. If you cannot tolerate omeprazole, you may try esomepraole. Do discuss with your physician. Hope that helps.

taking omeprazole-20 twice and magaldrate antacid but still have gas at midnight which awakes me.what can i add for midnight gas problem? pls. advise.

Neither are for gas: Both of the agents aim at ↓ing acid, omeprazole by ↓secretion from stomach parietal cells, magaldrate by neutralizing acid already secreted. Gas is mostly swallowed air; very little, if any, produced from digestion; some exceptions for bacteria in colon. Options: ↓ed swallowed air, avoid carbonated drinks, exercise/walk in evening, try simethicone, etc. Subconscious, dream activity a major issue.

good day i have a gerd for 1year, now i have u.t.i i drink ciprofloxacin, now my abdomen have deeply pain . can i drink buscopan,omeprazole & antacid.

NO: Antacids like Tums containing calcium carbonate will significantly reduce the absorption of ciprofloxacin. Omeprazole will also reduce the level or effect of ciprofloxacin. I don't have any information on buscopan as it is not used in the U.S.******CIPROFLOXACIN CAN CAUSE ABDOMINAL PAIN CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR AND ADVISE HIM OF YOUR PAIN. HE MAY ADVISE YOU TO STOP IT AND SUBSTITUTE ANTIBIOTIC.

i take ranitidine or omeprazole for reflux.  need to begin azithromycin (z-pack). how long to wait between meds since zith is not good with antacids?

Doesn't matter: Neither ranitidine or Omeprazole are classified as antacids.  Antacids are things like tums, (calcium carbonate) maalox, rolaids, mylanta, etc.  As such, there is no need to wait between taking either ranitidine or Omeprazole and azithromycin.

what is the proper dosage for amoxycillin-omeprazole-metronidazole combination? he has all symptoms of ulcer. the gp prescribed an antacid and omeprazole only. he cries and writhes in pain despite that?

: I would never self treat an 8 yo kid for an ulcer based on symptoms you decide are relevant. I never saw one in an 8 yo in 4 decades of practice. If you truly believe it have the kid evaluated by a pedi-GI doctor who can do a endoscopy and validate or exclude the label.

i take xanax (alprazolam) xr 1mg and celexa 10mg. just started celexa yesterday. can i take tums with this combination. what about 20mg of omeprazole?

Caution!: Omeprazole raises the blood levels of Celexa which can lead to serious side effects. In general the highest dose of Celexa while on Omeprazole is 20mg per day.  You really need to ask your doctor or prescriber to guide you as I do not know enough about your general health. 
As far as alternating xanax (alprazolam) and Celexa my opinion is that this is not a good idea.  Celexa is taken every day.
