I would never self treat an 8 yo kid for an ulcer based on symptoms you decide are relevant. I never saw one in an 8 yo in 4 decades of practice. If you truly believe it have the kid evaluated by a pedi-GI doctor who can do a endoscopy and validate or exclude the label.
