Correct...: Typically, early cancers/malignancies do not cause pain. Some nodes can be smaller and be cancerous. Often, by the time one experiences pain from the cancer, it usually means it has spread to other organs, especially bones and edges of lungs (breathing causes movement of these areas, thus causing pain)..
If you have the nodes above, i suggest getting them checked asap.

Lymph Nodes: Lymph nodes are enlarged due to infection , inflammation or cancer.It is very important for you to see a doctor to evaluate the source of the swelling. If infection is present proper diagnosis and treatment is essential and biopsy may be needed if cancer is suspected.Please see a doctor.

Lots of things: I've had one patient with enlarged nodes from a bad kidney infection. Sarcoidosis, tuberculosis, lupus, etc. Can cause abnormal nodes. However, most of the time an enlarged node needs evaluation and possible biopsy.

Enlarged nodes usually don't cause much symptoms. Sometimes people get vague abdominal pain or back pain.

Usually not: Testicular cancer typically does not metastasize to the groin/inguinal lymph nodes, as it has a fairly predictable pattern of spread to the nodes in the retroperitoneum (along the large blood vessels in the back of the abdomen).  I suggest that you go see your doctor.

No: One of the problems with cervical cancer treatment is that many people do not have symptoms until it has already spread.  That is why we do  Pap smears-to catch it before symptoms

Mesenteric adenitis: Maybe. Mesenteric adenitis (enlargement of lymph nodes in abdominal mesentery) is commonly seen in conditions that mimic acute appendicitis. When accompanied by inflammation of the ileum, ; crohn's disease has been excluded, consider bacterial infection caused by yersinia enterocolitica, campylobacter, salmonella. Adenitis may also reflect non-gi inflammatory processes in the abdomen.

ive had 2 lymph nodes in me neck for 2 years. they half an inch in size and have never changed. i also have no symptoms of lymphoma or a cause for the lymph nodes to be there. could this be cancer?

: I would think these are benign, but you could get an opinion from an ENT specialist or general surgeon about the advisability of having an excisional biopsy so you don't have to keep getting checkups. This would also give you peace of mind.

do you need to have cancer present in a lymph node to make all of your other lymph nodes enlarged due to cancer? i have 2 pea sized lymph nodes at the back of my head which haven't in 6 months, so can they cause my other nodes to become enlarged?

: Repeat question; see previous reply. An inflamed or enlarged node cannot cause another to enlarge and get inflamed. This still sounds normal and nothing to worry about. But see a doctor if you remain concerned.
