Yes it can: Thyroid cancer can spread to the adjacent lymph nodes. When the cancer has spread/metastasize beyond the area, however, it can be found on distant organs - such as distant lymph glands like the mediastinal/hilar as well as other organs like lung, bones. Needs biopsy.
