Jaundice: Jaundice occurs due to build-up of bilirubin which turns skin yellow. Can happen from biliary problem (liver, gall bladder, pancreas disease) or bursting red blood cells (hemolytic anemia). Sometimes, first sign of jaundice is scleral icterus (yellowing of whites of eyes). I imagine that is what is referred to as "white jaundice" which, to my knowledge, is not an official medical term.

It depends: It depends on the cause of the jaundice. For example, viral hepatitis is communicable while alcoholic hepatitis is not.

When it reaches critical levels it starts to discolor the whites of the eyes, urine and finally skin a yellow color. The urine turns dark like "tea". Not really.: Your jaundice is a manifestation of having high bilirubin in your blood for whatever erason, be it hepatitis, gallbladder issues, etc..  It means that your bile flow has/had been obstructed for a while, and it backed up so it shows up in your blood.  Your creatinine shows how well your kidneys are functioning, and clearing impurities from your body, like excess bilirubin.  It should be < 1.5 mg/dl.
