Accepted Answer

Yes: Some folks develop hives when they touch the leaves of some plants. This is called contact urticaria and is common with juniper, squash, pumpkin and tomato. They don't necessarily have allergy symptoms when they eat the fruit of the plant. I haven't heard of anyone else with strawberry leaf allergy but it's certainly possible. Get someone else to do the picking & enjoy the eating.

Possibly: It is possible that you are allergic to those foods.  You can get tested to find out.

Yes: You can be allergic to artificial flavors which are man-made chemicals and have no relation to a real food

It sounds kind of: amazing that you are 51 years old and don't know if you are allergic to strawberries or not?  Is there be some reason why you have avoided them all these years? Perhaps you were told you had an allergic reaction as a child?  If so, the fact that you tolerated them in yogurt is reassuring.  I would eat 1/2 a strawberry; wait a day or so. Then, if ok, eat 5 or 6; wait another day. If good, go for it

Weight Loss: You may have reached a plateau in weight loss, which happens, and then you may lose more.  Fruit contains sugar so it can be eaten but not unlimited.  Berries, are the best kind of fruit to eat because they do not turn into sugar quickly thus spiking your blood sugar.  Please check w/your doctor and ask about the ketogenic diet. : I doubt the causal relationship between strawberry allergy and high pitched voice change.  There is nothing to concern.

my friend in highschool is allergic to strawberries and i want to protect her. since i have claritin (loratadine) sometimes, can i give one to her when expoused?

Yes but Epi needed: If the reaction is an anaphylactic one, she needs to carry a 2-pack epinephrine kit with her since no oral medication can save her from a severe attack.    Antihistamine may help an itchy mouth but not potent or fast enough to do much for severe allergic reactions.  Vigilance is still the best approach.

Sure.: People have contact allergies to just about anything, including water and sunlight. Don't forget, though, that you can also be allergic to things that have been sprayed on strawberry leaves, such as pesticides and fertilizers. It might not be the leaves themselves.

Best not to: You can be allergic to anything and best not to try the drinks if actually has strawberry in it.However,sometimes when things say natiral favoring it does not actually have the strawberry in it but artificial.Hard to tell sometimes what is actually in it.If it is a significant allergy why take the chance.
