Yes: Ask your doctor to check for glucose in his nasal secretion. If positive, then you need to find out where the leak is coming from (most likely from the area of the skull next to the nose).  Don't delay.

Unlikely: Unless your inner ear was involved in the surgery or you were born with inner ear or ear bone malformations, the inner ear and ear bones were likely unaffected from surgery. A suboccipital decompression typically does not affect the inner ear or ear bones. I would consult your otologist for a more precise answer.

Leakage: It sounds like if you have a leak during an erection, your erection goes down?? So, some men have a little leak when they get an erection due to excitement and excretion of prostate fluid. This is normal. Some men are embarrassed because it is a large stream, and they lose their erection. This is not ejaculation. There is no 'time limit.'  This leak can be decreased w/ masturbation

Skull base defect: You need to see an otolaryngologist.  You may need a ct scan and MRI scan.

An audiogram may be ordered.

The leakage can come from the skull base around the nose or the ear.

This can be due to trauma, an encephalocele, prior surgery, etc.

An untreated leak can cause meningitis.

prolonged air leak after vats.  surgeon said that he would operate to stop it after 14 days.  changed his mind.  how come?  any ideas? 16 days now.

Persistent air: leak after lung resection usually requires re-operation, unless it slows down or stops with continued suction on chest tube.  Ask your surgeon why he changed his mind.  He must have a good reason.

: Lesions in the brain MRI are abnormal, the MRI report should not be stated as clear. Please follow closely with your neurologist and request a second opinion if needed.
