.??ok: It is never really ok to sunbath. Sunbathing increases your risks of skin cancer and premature skin aging. You spend enough time out in the sun to do more than just ly there and absorb uv rays. Have fun in the sun, protect yourself from excessive exposure. The sythroid itself should not affect your fun in the sun, but your lack of sun protection may.

Potentially: hundreds of other meds might interact in some way with Synthroid. Your doctor can run an interaction check between Synthroid &amp; your other Rx's.  In general, however, if you take Synthroid 2 hours after and 1/2 hour before meals, other meds, mineral &amp; fiber supplements and antacids, you will avoid most interactions with Synthroid. each morning before i take my synthroid i feel very bad and about 1 hr after taking it feel good. why is that? does it wear off by the morning?

Possibly,..: Everyone metabolizes medications differently, and in your case, your symptoms are what they are, so it is possible the meds are waxing in the AM.  Try talking to your Dr. and maybe taking the meds at Noon or even in the PM hours may help decrease the feeling you get in the AM. Best wishes.

i'm taking 1 tablet daily of 125mcg synthroid, which was changed up from 112 mcg synthroid. what can i do with the 112mcg synthroid so that i'm not going to waste them? i was thinking that i can take 2 of the 112mcg synthroid in place of the 125mcg?

: No, that will be too much Synthroid to take 2 x112 instead of 125 mcg as prescribed, will be almost twice the dose. Talk to the pharmacist about best use of your remaining 112 mcg pills and take for now the 125 mcg pills as prescribed.

Yes, identical: Hi. Brand name Synthroid and generic levothyroxine are chemically identical hormones, l-thyroxine. The inert ingredients vary, but that's trivial. If you switch to generic at the same dose, you should check your TSH and free T4 in 2-3 months to make sure your replacement dose is still OK. Good luck!

Being hyper: Too much synthroid (thyroxine) can make you feel hyper, cause diarrhea, weight loss, feeling hot or hot flashes, anxiety, poor sleep, heart pounding.  Please speak with your doctor if you are having these symptoms.

Yes, but: Missing a couple days should be ok but symptoms of hypothroidism will slowly return if you don't restart your meds.

: Call your physician for instructions &amp; advice as to when to resume usual dose. .  You may experience some jitteriness,palpitations from acceleration of your heart rate,sleeplessness,tremors,loose BM's but symptoms will dissipate gradually but if symptoms are severe notify your physician for advice or proceed to the ER.

i just seen my synthroid expired 13 months ago. i have been useing it for sometime now. will it still be effective i wonder or make me ill?

Accepted Answer

It will not be 100%: effective. Most prescription expiration dates are estimated to be two years from when it's manufactured. So if your Synthroid expired in March 2016, meaning it was manufactured in 2014. So in 2017, it may be only 50% effective. Since it's important to know if your synthroid is effectively treating your hypothyroidism, it's best to use Synthroid that's in date.
