i was on shoulder stabilisation 2 months ago. since i itch all over body+rash on both shoulders. is it possible that its caused by general anesthesia?

Allergic Reaction: Highly unlikely. It is very rare to have an allergic reaction to the anesthetic gases used today.  Allergies to some of the intravenous medications used as part of the overall anesthetic are possible -but those medications are metabolized relatively quickly and would not cause the chronic symptoms you are experiencing. Are you taking pain meds? Started a new medication of any kind?

Multiple: Anesthesia is amnesia, analgesia and, often, akinesia (no movement).  Each of these requires different medication, although some medication may have overlap (for example, ketamine would have analgesic and amnesic properties).  The most common amnesics used are propofol, benzodiazepines, and anesthesia vapors.  Analgesics would be narcotics and NSAIDs.  The most commonly used relaxant is rocuronium

It can happen: Lung complications, such as deflation of little lung units, or pneumonia, can occur after general anesthesia. The best thing to prevent this would be to do deep breathing exercises.

Volatile anesthetics: General anesthesia is commonly initiated with propofol, an intravenous anesthetic, to render the patient unconscious.  General anesthesia is then usually maintained with inhaled volatile anesthetics through a breathing tube.  Opioids and other medications may be used to supplement the volatile anesthetic during general anesthesia.

Vocal cord: Not very common. You can have a voice change for a fews days especially if an endotracheal tuble was used and this is probably a pressure effect thatresolves over a few days.

Wrong Term: Laproscoy done on the abdomin. Arthroscopy done on the knee
Discuss with anesthesia if Spinal anesthetic is applical in your case.

is it common to have flush cheeks that are warm and warm arms a day after general anesthesia?

Accepted Answer

Possible: In my experience, this is uncommon.  It is possible but it would probably be considered a relatively benign finding.
