Sertraline effects: some Pts notice mild improvement in mood or anxiety within days of starting an SSRI (doses are adjusted daily in hosp).  pts will need to be on a therapeutic dose for up to 8 weeks to see full benefits of the med. Pts also differ with respect to SEs. Most Pts  have only self limited or rather tolerable SEs (like dry mouth). Rarely, more serious SEs occur. Talk to your doc about your risks/benefits

The most effective drug is the one you tolerate which works.

Yes it is: Zoloft (sertraline) is used for treatment of depression, ocd, ptsd and sad. Zoloft (sertraline) is a great ssri medication with some side effects. 
Check with your physician for "risks and rewards".

Ask your care giver: Assuming you have an ongoing relationship with one or more therapists (you should), they are the best people to make recommendations about other medication, since your individual characteristics can sometimes make one or more medicines either appropriate or completely wrong for you.  If you aren't getting good guidance from them, find someone who can help better with your meds.  It can help a lot.

Increase is OK: 62mg of Zoloft (sertraline) is unusual as typically this is prescribed in increments of 25mg. Zoloft (sertraline) is considered a relatively safe drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The difference between 62 and 75 is minimal, but if you are experiencing depression, try the increase, with consult with your OB/GYB. You cannot equate effective dosages between medications as their metabolic rate is different.

NO IT DOES NOT: I have not found any effect of zoloft or Paxil (paroxetine) on loseasonique.

Panic disorder: Medication may play a role in helping but behavioral interventions are very helpful.  See a mental health professional who can help w/things like clinical hypnosis, imagery, or the like.  See www.relaxationresponse.org for self-help also.  Peace and good health.  Your sympathetic nervous system is too sensitive.

is effexor (venlafaxine) more effective for panic disorder than zoloft?

Different strokes...: The polls of patients say slightly more prefer Zoloft (sertraline) for panic, but it's a very unique fit. Neither was initially for that - they're antidepressants. That said it's often effective for panic and much, more combined w/ CBT therapy. Discuss w/ Dr. Don't do it yourself!
