could a pap smear go from normal to advanced cervical cancer in a year and four months? last year my pap was normal before in 2019 i had mild changes to the cells. now i have irregular bleeding 3 times this month and pelvic cramps 25 years old?

Yes.: Your reading is correct.  most women will clear the HPV infection.  Those who do not clear the infection are at risk for developing cervical cancer and need to be monitored more frequently.

: PAP smear may be dependent on how proficient the person doing it however Colposcopy is not usual if all PAP smears have been normal. Colposcopy is obtaining biopsy under visual inspection of the cervix that may look abnormal; and you are right it is more invasive.

: No. By current guidelines (which not all gynecologists are comfortable with), it is adequate to do a pap with HPV testing every 5 years as long as the results are negative. Abnormal results however require additional testing, possible treatment, and annual testing for at least two years, depending on the specific abnormalities and test results.

: HPV doesn't cause such symptoms. You might need a different antibiotic for the strep ("nitro mono/Mac" isn't clear, but doesn't sound like usual strep treatment). A nonstandard STI might still be present, if at risk for STI (new partner, etc). For example, did they include DNA tests for Mycoplasma genitalium and trichomonas? Keep working with your doctor.
