what kind of disease/condition causes involuntary tongue protrusion?

Habit or : It could be a habit you developed over time.  If this is the case, a dentist can make an appliance to try to stop the habit. It could also be a neurological problem so for this i would recommend a neurologist and i would probably start there and rule out the medical  end of things.  Don't wait too long.

after i eat (specifically dairy) it seems i can 'click' my front teeth with my tongue. like they slightly shift? dentist said they weren't wiggly?

Hmmm?: I see no relationship between eating specific foods and "clicking" of your teeth. Your dentist was implying that the teeth do not appear mobile (loose).  The dentist who saw you would be in the best position to help you further explain what you are experiencing.  We would have to see you ourselves in order to evaluate further.  Perhaps it's just a habit you created?

i have a ear clicking with any tongue movement. no wax, removed medication in case side effect. not tmj. with no other symptom, is allergy possible?

Ear Clicking: There are bones in the inner ear and they click when you increase the pressure in the oral cavity by holding your nose with your mouth closed.  You will hear the bones click as they move.  This is normal.

what causes involuntary jaw shutting and teeth banging together ? also bite my tongue and mouth a lot accidentally ? i assumed it was caused by amitriptyline so came off it but still happening throughout day ?

: This could still be a side effect of amitriptyline. It could also be a variant of temporomandibular joint dysfunction. I'd give it a little more time before consulting an oral surgeon as the amitriptyline side effect may wear off.

ive been under severe chronic stress from trauma. dr. said i have gad. couple days after taking one antidepressant, had an involuntary eye roll, tongue protrusion, involuntary grimacing, raising eyebrows, one time. could this be tardive dyskinesia?

: .You don't mention what the medication was. Tardive dyskinesia takes at least a few months to develop as a side effect. Your symptoms seemed characteristic of it but I don't think they were caused by 2 days of that medication. Nevertheless notify your prescribing physician of those symptoms and get advice and instructions.

my 9 month old grandson has been clicking his tongue &  grinding his teeth also  has not pooped?

Question?: I guess you like to know if these are related!? Clicking tongue is good, practicing sound, grinding is normal as teeth are erupting and is very common in children and babies. Not pooping is related to something else. Depends how long he has been constipated, formula or nursed, other diets.... Check with pediatrician and be specific with a brief history when you pose the question so a better answer.

variety - see below: Tuberculosis, cancer, lupus, behcet syndrome can all produce persistent ulcers.  Needs oral surgeon evaluation asap.

my 2 weeks old baby girl makes some clicking sound while breastfeeding and 4rm bottle. has it anything to do wit tongue tying?

Tongue tie: A tethered tongue can cause unusual sounds during breast feeding, but as long as she is gaining weight (feeding effectively) and not choking or gagging, this is likely not an issue that needs to be addressed in the short term.  Hope this helps!

Chorea: Chorea is dance like movement of the arms and trunk.  Many movement disorders can be associated with this symptom.  Certain medications can also cause these symptoms, especially the ones you are describing in the tongue, which may represent tardive dyskinesia.

Where is the problem: If you are talking about in the jaw line then you may have inflamed the area by chewing a lot like if you chew gum or eat candies. The best treatment is to rest the jaw. Soft foods for several months. If problem persists see you doctor
