i heard internal hemorrhoids are painless and i have them and mine definately are not painless. how do i treat them if they were caused by diarrhea?

Rectal suppository: You can try a rectal suppository like preparation H which can be picked up over the counter at a local pharmacy, this contains hydrocortisone cream which will decrease the size and swelling of the hemorrhoids, it is also possible these hemorrhoids are X ternal which may be causing pain. Lastly you may want to see your doctor as they can refer you to a colorectal surgeon to have the hemorrhoids remlastly you may want to see your doctor as they can refer you to a colorectal surgeon to have the hemorrhoids removed

i had a colonoscopy last yr it was neg. i have internal/external hemorrhoids, today i have diarrhea and every time i wipe there's a lil blood worry?

No: You are young to have had a colonoscopy, and with negative findings, the blood is likely due to the hemorrhoids.  Unless you have a strong family history, you should have a course of dietary changes to increase fiber and water intake to soften stools.  If this fails, you may need to see a general or colorectal surgeon to have the hemorrhoids removed or banded.

Maybe: How bloody? Was it painful? For a young 33 year old without other medical issues like bleeding disorder, blood thinner use or ibd, you are most likely dealing with a hemorrhoid bleed.  If it hurts quite a lot, it maybe a fissure.  Should see a doctor if it persists, recurs.

Not normally: Internal hemorrhoids: blood filled cushions, not varicose veins; not usually felt during  rectal exam.  Usually painless vs. External hemorrhoids (different nerve supply).  Can cause bright red blood in bowl, on toilet paper, or coating stool.  Bloody pieces of tissue, blood mixed in the stool, dark blood, clots, etc need to be evaluated.  Bright red blood may need to be investigated too. See md.

Warm water: A soak in a warm tub of water can be helpful. Get some soft wipes like Tucks so as not to aggrivate the situation.  Hydrocortisone cream can be helpful.

That alone: may not warrant an exam. However if there is any history of colon cancer in any of your first or second degree relatives, or you have had significant alteration of bowel movements or further bleeding since then a referral to a gastroenterologist for colonoscopy should be requested.

Most certainly: Either extreme, hard infrequent bowel movements or frequent loose stools can inflame the hemorrhoids, so best to avoid or treat both.

Pain/diarrhea: Try probiotics for your diarrhea and preparation H for your hemorrhoids. Be sure and have weekly follow ups with your obstetrician  prior to delivery. If there is blood in the diarrhea or you are unable to keep up with your fluids be seen sooner. All the best with the remainder of your pregnancy.

Go to your PCP : Your primary care physician is the best expert equipped to evaluate and treat you immediately outside of an er visit. Do not take any blood thinners (aspririn, advil) before seeing him/her, especially if your hemorrhoids are actively bleeding. Your dr. Will instruct whether sitz baths are warranted or not, and other measured. Best to not wait much longer since you are in pain and need relief now.

hi doctor, please i've having red brightened diarrhea for the past two weeks now. even though i have hemorrhoids but could there be any other infectio?

Brb in stool: At your age, with a history of hemorrhoids, the most likely cause of bleeding is a hemorrhoidal bleed. However, with the diarrhea and protracted course, an infection is next most likely. If it doesn't clear up in a few days, I would recommend consulting a gastroenterologist. In the meantime, OTC hemorrhoidal suppositories might provide some relief. I assume you have no fever or abdominal pain?
