See derm: there are many things this could be but instead of worrying yourself with multiple diagnosis, make an appointment to see your dermatologist who might perform a biopsy to be sure.

is there any way i can prevent bruising from juvederm injections? bruises seem to take forever to heal on me, so i'd like to try to avoid them when i get my juvederm treatment. do you have any advice for how to do that?

You : You can avoid blood thinner medications and supplements from 10 days before your procedure to help with avoiding bruising. Some patients also find that taking arnica helps with bruising as well.

i had pdl laser for rosacea ten weeks ago. the settings were too hi and i had intense bruising. now i have more broken capillaries than when she started the treatment. will this go away or will i need another laser treatment?

: I don’t know.  But I would think that after ten weeks of initial therapy, and there has not been an improvement, then perhaps the setting was too high.  Have you ever had any therapy previously. I would contact provider, and express concern.

Same: The principles are the same if you're referring to scalp contusions and not brain injuries. Of course with head injuries you have to be on the lookout for worsening headaches, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, confusion, etc which would raise the suspicion of associated brain injury.

Pain: It depends whether you bruised your muscle oly or had a bone bruise as well. Initiallt iwould use ice packs to reduce the swelling. After 48 hours i would start using hot packs especially if you have only muscle involvement. A bone bruise may take up to 2 months to heal. Discolorationmay take up to a month to clear depending on how ectensive the bruise is.

Depends: A bone bruise, as opposed to a bone fracture, does not need to be put in a cast in the sense of protection from displacement.  But a cast can be useful to control swelling, potentially help with pain, and may make the hand more functional while you are recovering.  I certainly would discuss with your doctor the different options for immobilization that are available.
