Increased insulin: Insulin resistance means that the cells are less sensitive to Insulin - so it takes more Insulin keep the blood sugar down than normal.  So, symptoms would be of hyperinsulinemia or hyperglycemia if the blood sugar is not controlled.

Glumetza: Use Glumetza 2.5 g per day. Take 1 g with breakfast, and 1 g with eve meal. It is much less likely than metformin to produce the GI side effects. Cjglueck md.

hi, i have insulin resistance and notice that whenever i drink coffee or take stimulant medicine i get hypoglycemia symptoms/low blood sugar.what wld be the mechanism of this? why wld it occur?

Insulin resistance: not only affects how your insulin functions in your bloodstream, it also affects the chain of events that stimulates your liver to release stored sugar into your bloodstream when your body needs it.  Because this step is impaired, you don't get the sugar released in time when you body needs it, therefore causing low blood sugar symptoms.  Taking a medication and having regular meals help improve.

Probably unrelated: Polycystic ovarian syndrome usually is not related to hollowing under the eyes. You may have weight gain related to carbohydrate intake and acne and possibly excessive hair growth or male pattern baldness along with abnormal ovulation.

Can call Dr on video: A young adult woman in her 20's is usually fertile and having regular menstrual periods. If she does not have periods for most of a year, that is not normal. Her primary care doctor can do an evaluation, which may include a full exam and some lab tests.

Sugar levels: Pcos symptoms are related to how the ovary and the hormones are affected, even if the underlying cause in related to Insulin resistance. Diabetes symptoms are related to high glucose and its effects on the body.

Unclear question: Which hormones are you blaming and what good will that do you? You need to exercise and lose weight to improve your insulin responsiveness. Not easy, but essential. 
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
