Insulin resistance: When we consume too many high glycemic foods too much Insulin is released into the blood stream. This eventually leads to Insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and weight gain. The type 2 diabetes epidemic is a direct result of this. Most people do not understand that diet foods and drinks and sugar free products are loaded with artificial sweeteners which are much more of a problem!
