Rough surfaces or sharp edges on teeth, restorations, or any appliances you are wearing can cause injuries to the tissues in mouth.  Eating certain hard foods may also produce an injury to the tissues.  Have your dentist examine your mouth to determine a possible cause.

More info  needed: The mouth is a large cavity with a lot of anatomical parts in it. Where exactly are these red dots? If they are on the tongue and you do not have any symptoms, they may be taste buds.
