Hard lump Dx: Any hard lump should be evaluated by your physician. It could be as simple as a benign fatty tumor called a lipoma to more serious conditions.

Surgical excision...: "tumor" is a nonspecific word that can refer to either a benign new growth or a malignant growth.  Most people think of "tumors" as solid proliferations of new cells.  Tumors in the thigh/leg could be derived from many different types of tissues.  One of the most common types of thigh masses would be lipomas.  These are benign accumulations of fatty tissue that can be treated by surgical removal.

having a 3.5 tumor removed on upper thigh. what type of  tumor or fatty tumor can it be? surgeon says most likely lipoma but  the pain is unusual.

Ur Dr. Knows Best: If your surgeon thinks it is a lipoma, that's more-than-likely correct. Although often painless, angiolipomas (benign) can cause pain. Also, if the lipoma is under the fascia next to muscle, it may cause pain.  I'm sure the surgery will go well and you'll know with 100% certainty what it is. Good luck!

i have a huge hard mass in my rt. groin 16x15cm extending to rt thigh.  when the tumor doubled it's size in 08/13,  i began having severe lymphedema.

Be seen now!!: There are a number of possibilities.
Lymphadenopathy, lymphoma, some other tumor, sarcoma, or even a giant hernia-less likely.
General surgery or oncologist surgery may be best to start.

why would it matter if when pushing down on thigh tumor it hurts to extend leg? when the doctor did not push down on the tumor  no pain with extending

Not unusual: Sounds like pressure on the  tumor produces pain when you extend your leg but not when it is not pressed. Sounds like it is possibly pressing on a nerve or a nearby sensitive structure - a bursa possibly?

large egg size/shape lump very deep inside my left upper inside leg/thigh.  no pain, but feels like i can move it around. fatty tumor or what? remove?

Check it out: Most likely fatty tumor or fibrous tumor, less likely possibly femoral hernia.  See a general surgeon.  Sounds like nothing serious but in general if we can't get a tissue sample, we are not 100% sure of what it is.  Don't lose sleep over it but get it checked out.

i have 20 benign fatty tumor in my  hand, thigh, and in my  back.all these five year old. it does not give any type of pain but i afraid of it .please?

Most likely neurofib: If you have 20 of them, most likely you have  cutaneous neurofibromas, some one in your family may have them also , get one or two biopsied for diagnosis, then cosmetically if they do not bother you , can leave them  alone.

i saw a big bump on my thigh itching 1 month ago, i thought its an insect bite. about 5cm, deep under skin, not moving at touch, not painful, not red, no skin manifestations, only hard at touch. how can a cyst or tumor differ from lyposarcoma?

You ARE a worrier: Your symptoms are absolutely, totally, completely not typical of either MS or a brain tumor. Stop making these seven-league jumps to conclusions. It sounds like bilateral meralgia paresthetica. Bilateral suggests a condition like being very overweight or very underweight or having some undiagnosed predisposition to mononeuropathy. See a doctor &amp; get it checked out.

swollen lump on thigh half the size of my palm. unsure how long it's been there. looks like a contusion or swelling but no bruising? tumor?

Concerning...: Are you having any other symptoms such as fevers, unexplained weight loss, new onset fatigue? Any lumps anywhere else on your body? Is the lump tender to the touch? Something that large, in that location that does not look like a bruise, and you don't remember injuring that area would make me want to get it examined by a doctor sooner than later. May be nothing, but hard to tell from here.
