Most likely neurofib: If you have 20 of them, most likely you have cutaneous neurofibromas, some one in your family may have them also , get one or two biopsied for diagnosis, then cosmetically if they do not bother you , can leave them alone.

See a specialist: There is a condition called lipomatosis in which multiple lipomas are found. It carries no cancer risk. There are other conditions like neurofibromatosis, where there are multiple subcutaneous masses, but there is a risk of cancer. You should see a specialist, like an orthopaedic oncologist, to establish a diagnosis.
