is it possible to inject xanax (alprazolam) if you crush up the pills and extract the drug using water? i want to find out before i do it. i am a recreational drug user.

Injecting : Injecting xanax (alprazolam) mixed with water can kill you. Injecting a mixture of medication and water that is not sterilized can cause a life threating infection in your body. Also you are at risk for injecting an air embolism which can travel through your vessels into your brain and heart and cause instant death. Medications meant for oral use are never safe for injection.

Probably.: The half-life of ativan is about 10 to 20 hours, so there may still be avian in your system.  Usually, xanax (alprazolam) is prescribed for control of symptoms similar to panic attacks. If you were currently having symptoms, it probably would be useful for you.  If you were going to take it, just to stay on some type of schedule, not for symptoms, then you can probably skip a dose.

Not a fan of it: Alprazolam is  a short acting benzodiazepine, it does not last long in the system . So when used regularly with multiple doses to treat anxiety, it is associated with inter-dose withdrawal, tolerance and a resulting increase level of baseline anxiety. So in anxiety clinics, we use it only in cases of " flight , dentist or other infrequent anxieties, not on daily basis.

ANXIETY: Xanax (alprazolam) is usefulin reducing anxiety. However, if anxiety is a problem, the cause of the problem is important -because when you know how something works and why,  you can dosomething about it. Work out what this is about in therapy and maybe you won't need the xanax (alprazolam).

Probably nothing: There is no contraindication for the use of xanax (alprazolam) (a benzodiazapine anti-anxiety agent along with Mirtazapine an antidepressant! OBVIOUSLY this must be ordered by an experienced mental health Professional!

Tapering Xanax (alprazolam): Very, very carefully, and over a long period of time.  Xanax (alprazolam) is a very potent medicine, meaning lots of power in a small quantity of milligrams.  If tapered too quickly, confusion, other mental status changes, and even seizures can result.  Sometimes the safest place to do this is on an inpatient unit.

Yes: When combined with alcohol and other sedatives, you are more likely to blackout if taking alprazolam (Xanax).
