A member asked:

Can xanax (alprazolam) cause blackouts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: When combined with alcohol and other sedatives, you are more likely to blackout if taking alprazolam (Xanax). On its own, Xanax can cause presyncope, dizziness, confusion, hyperactivity, agitation, hostility, hallucinations, chest fluttering, drowsiness, etc. See your physician immediately if you blacked out. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a684001.html
