Not likely: Pain in the upper extremities such as jaw/neck does not usually refer from a lower area like the abdomen. If you believe that you have indigestion then try some peptobismol to see if it makes a difference with your jaw/neck pain. See your dentist to have your jaw checked. Sometimes TMJ problems can refer pain to the jaw or neck.

Muscles aching: 85% of these types of pain are related to muscles.  Unfortunately, the other 15% can be infection and disease processes.  Please get to a dentist for an appropriate diagnosis!

Head ; Jaw pain: I hope other doctors send input: as a dentist, what I do is to collect your info, take x-rays and/or ct scan sometimes, re-create your teeth and jaw models to see if any bad jaw relationship is causing your pain. Treatment depends on what is found. Other doctors, (ent, chiropractic, naturopathic dr, oral surgeon, immunologist, neurologist, acupuncturist, etc.) also have a way to find why.

Danger sign: Jaw pain on exertion could be a sign of heart strain, (angina) from a blocked vessel or faulty (stenotic) valve. See a doctor to rule out a potential heart attack immediately.

We all have either answering services, or in my case i also contact my patients the night of surgery & also give them my cell # for such situations. Anxiety: A "restless tongue"(RT) is not a medical condition, but rather a symptom of anxiety or other psychiatric disorder. It is an oral compulsive habit similar to nail biting. Stop and Review...: This drug works by narrowing the widened and inflamed cranial and basilar arteries associated with migraines. Because your jaw pain may be caused either (1) by the narrowing of your coronary arteries as a side effect of this drug, or by (2) a misdiagnosed cluster headache (not a migraine), it's best to see a headache specialist to help you make a more informed decision about using this drug..

Variable: All depends upon the type of guards and your initial and current condition. If these were prescribed and adjusted by a dentist, then i would expect close timely follow-up (days, not weeks) immediately after delivery. As the jaw position changes, these need to be adjusted. The change in opening can be too much for the system, and you can get worse. See your dentist. Should improve in weeks.
