Variable: All depends upon the type of guards and your initial and current condition. If these were prescribed and adjusted by a dentist, then i would expect close timely follow-up (days, not weeks) immediately after delivery. As the jaw position changes, these need to be adjusted. The change in opening can be too much for the system, and you can get worse. See your dentist. Should improve in weeks.

Usually quite soon: Most of the time a night guard will decrese pain from bruxing rather quickly. If you are stillhaving apin then see your dentist and have your nightguard adjusted. There maybe other reasons why you are still having pain so get this checked out.
