i'm scared i will have stains after i get my braces off please help?

Brush Well-No Stains: There is absolutely no reason that you should be concerned about stains on your teeth after your braces are removed--as long as you have excellent oral hygiene during your orthodontic treatment!  most staining is extrinsic in nature, related to tea, coffee, etc.  Those stains are easily removed.  However, poor brushing can result in white spots that are permanent markings.  Keep brushing!

Question 2

does residual glue leftover from braces wear away on its own? im going to get scaling done again and get new impressions for a new retainer, but lets say i leave this glue on my teeth, will my current retainer become loose if this glue wears away?

: 1. The bonding material used to hold your othodontic anchors in place does not wear away on its own.

2. The remanants of bonding will  not materially affect the fit of your retainers.
Ask your dentist to polish and smooth the remaining bonding off before taking the impressions.

i'm getting my teeth radiographed in 6 days for my braces and i'm scared that my teeth won't go pink before i go there! any tips to get pink gums? :)

Brush &amp; Floss: Brush thoroughly but gently twice a day for TWO minutes each time. Floss gently between each tooth to remove any debris. That should keep your gums healthy.

i just got my braces off i just got my braces off last month, and yesterday my little sister broke my retainer.(top) i called my ortho immediately and came in this morning to get the impressions of my teeth and now have to wait 2 weeks for new retainers.

Unfortunately, : Unfortunately, this question listed under orthopaedic surgery, rather than orthodonics.  However, there are a few principles here.  First, try calling your orthodontist to find out if there is a temporary one you can use.  If you cannot afford what he/she is offering, consider a meltable mouth guard available at most drug stores.  They usually can be softened in hot water.  You wouldn't want to wear it much during the day, but can wear it at night.  Make sure you shape it very carefully to your teeth to get as much "hold" as possible.  While there may be a little motion in 2 weeks time, it should not be so much that your new appliance won't fit, though it may feel tight at first.

i'm interested to know what happens before you get braces?

Everyone's different: See orthodontist for full evaluation.  You may then need to see dentist for check-up, cleaning, Fluoride treatment, gum treatments, extractions, fillings, etc.  Then orthodontist will place braces, as determined by the evaluation, and will correct your malocclusion.

impressions for braces tomorrow and i'm a gagger, what to do?

Inform: Inform the office that you have a problem.  Hopefully you're seeing an Orthodontic Specialist who deals with this on a routine basis.  Don't eat or drink for at least 6 hours before your appointment.  Take 1 200mg Advil (ibuprofen) before thou leave your house for the appointment.  But best thing is advise the treating office of your problem.  In all probability you'll be fine.

Follow instructions: Your orthodontic specialist has at least 5, 000 hours additional training beyond dental school in the best way to resolve your malocclusion.  Take advantage of his/her knowledge, training, and experience.  Follow instructions to the letter (don't cheat) and you will expedite treatment and enhance the result.  Good luck!

Easy: The orthodontist will pop the braces off your teeth relatively quickly.  Then the residual bonding material will be removed and your teeth cleaned and polished.

Can't stop smiling!: "off" is much easier than "on."  the orthodontist will pop the braces off your teeth (sealers easily displaced), clean your teeth, may do a little reshaping if there has been uneven wear, and make arrangements for your retainers.  If you've been a cooperative patient you will love the results.  Enjoy!
