Try OTC: 1% hydrocortisone cream and a strong antihistamine like Zyrtec- if not improved you may need stronger Rx from your physician.

wife has had palatoglossal arch redness and intermittent pain and discomfort for a couple days. very paranoid about covid etc. no fever. still has tonsils but redness seems to be only on thin edges of both sides. thoughts? thank you?

: Mild sore throat could be due to allergies, vocal overuse, many other viruses, even strep throat (but less likely with your description). 
If highly concerned about Covid, get tested and then wear a mask when around other people, wash hands frequently and thoroughly, avoid crowds, and stay up to date on vaccinations. New vaccines with broader coverage are coming, too.

Calf pain: Consider posterior tibial is tendon dysfunction with your fallen arch. May be residua of pinched nerve. Consider DVT also as a more ominous condition.

Could be: Hand-foot-mouth disease is a virus most commonly seen in younger children, but anyone can get it. It typically causes a fever and red bumps or spots on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet and inside and around the mouth. It is common, especially in adults, to get some but not all symptoms. : It hasn’t been stated how this injury might have occurred. Whether it was a traumatic injury to the area or an overuse injury from repetitive use from either walking or running. Or some other possible physical activity. The areas that describes sounds like the peroneus longus  tendon.  if it’s from running you might want to see a sports medicine podiatrist Or see your family doctor

Bruised feet: Maybe something else.  HFM disease typically has white or clear blisters.  Bruising suggests something else.    See your doctor again.   It maybe HSP (Henock schonlien  purpura) which causes bruising of the legs.   This condition lasts a few weeks and affects the kidneys and intestine as well.   The key is the distribution of the rash.  Legs only is HSP!

Possible infection: Pain and redness indicate likely infection unless he was injured.
Infection requires antibiotic treatment promptly.
So take him to see a doctor right away and seek medical consultation for treatment of his infection. Also check his temperature as most often infection is accompanies by fever.
