i'm looking for medication that can make me fall asleep fast seroquel did it but i gained a lot of weight i take ambien (zolpidem) 10 mg i need to fall asleep ?

COMPLICATED: Several issues. Make sure Adderall is taken early enough. Reduce or stop caffeine. Exercise early in the day. Have a good sleep /wake routine. Other sleep aides like Restoril (temazepam) may be better.

Narcotics: The narcotic is prescribed for back pain and  it is not a sleep medication. Adding Ambien (zolpidem) to it is not wise as it is indicated for short term sleep aid. Long term mood altering meds for pain syndromes requires management by trained pain specialists.

was prescribed ambien for sleep. i am able to fall asleep at night but cannot stay asleep. once i wake during the night its nearly impossible to fall back to sleep without benedryl. nervous to take ambien, is there something safer?

: I would invest in 1 months subscription to uptodate.com and read all about sleep problems and how to improve your sleep without meds first.  If that does not work then keep sleep diary and discuss with your Dr.  Ask about sleep study if indicated.

Magnesium: You need a dark, quiet, cool , comfy routine place to sleep, Reoutine wake and bed times, ,30min (3-4thing) routine prior to bed , avoid caffiene and bright light in the evening, try 400-500mg magnesium gluconate -routine is really important, may need to add melatonin 1-15mg

Maybe not as effect.: You may be becoming sensitized meaning it will not work as good.  You need to discuss with your doctor other options.

i have narcolepsy and have not been able to fall asleep or stay asleep for many nights. i currently take 1.5mg klonopin and 50mg trazodone at night. is it ok to take .5mg klonopin, 5mg ambien and 25mg trazodone for a week?

: Caution would be suggested. None of the drugs you mention is recommended as treatment for narcolepsy as they are mostly used to induce sleep. Your best reference remains your prescribing doc who will be able to weigh in having a clear clinical context.
