i'm taking 1 aspirin or ibuprofen almost each day. is this safe?

Probably: Just be aware that ingesting any substance has risks. The risks associated with these meds are well studied and small, but have to be balanced against the reasons for taking them daily. Are they being taken for concrete reasons (they help with daily pain) or theoretical reasons (you think they help prevent future problems). If it's the latter, discuss with your doctor. They can help sort it out.

: There is a higher chance of your being allergic to Ibuprofen also. Suggest try Tylenol (acetaminophen)

ASPIRIN/nsaid: NO ITS NOT SAFE- BOTH MAY RESULT IN SEVERE GASTIRC IRRITATION AND MAY LEAD TO ULCERS ESPECIALLY IF YOU USE THIS DAILY.

allergic to ibuprofen & aspirin in the form of mild hives. dr gave me celebrex (celecoxib). will i be safe taking this?

Watch carefully: Celebrex (celecoxib) structurally is somewhat different (it is called a Cox 2 inhibitor ) from the traditional NSAIDs such as Ibuprofen or the Aspirin family.  Because of this difference you probably can tolerate Celebrex (celecoxib). Nonetheless, you should watch very closely for any signs of hives and if they were to occur then stop the Celebrex (celecoxib) right away

what pain meds are safe to take if really needed for pkd patients? i know advil, motrin, ibuprofen, aspirin are not good to use.?

: There are many non-steroidal meds which can be taken. But all of them under the guidance of the doc treating the patient -for they know about the condition of the patient and we do not- so let the doc be the judge

Either aspirin : Or acetaminophen.Don't recommend nsaids as it has more side effects!

Maybe....: If you have an inflammatory condition that requires it then yes. But for general purposes I say no. There has been no studies to show low dose NSAIDs are beneficial for "general inflammation reduction". These medications can also be rough on the stomach and cause ulcers and although small but there is a real risk of major bleeding even with 81mg ASA. It's a risk vs. benefit kind of thing.

allergist is confident i can take aspirin again if we slowly reintroduce it. it gave me minor hives in the past, as did ibuprofen. is drs plan safe?

Not sure: If you are seeing a board certified allergist i would hope that they performed an Aspirin challenge and if positive planned to perform an Aspirin desensitization.  However, this is not always a risk-free procedure.  I am hoping that when they say "slowly reintroduce" that they are talking about a desensitization because when done correctly, you should be fine.  If symptoms occur they can stop.

is ibuprofen safe, short-term, (one to two days), for toothache relief even though i am taking a daily 325 mg aspirin for preventive heart health?

Pharmacy: Combination of Aspirin and Ibuprofen can be problematic. And unless your doctor told you to take an adult Aspirin i would recommend a baby Aspirin 81 mg.  Less chance of GI problems but still heart healthy but check with your doctor.
