Depends on cause...: One's primary care doctor can check for medical causes. If none are found, then one can see a dermatologist, especially one specializing in hair restoration (some treatments: minoxidil, etc, ...). Medical causes may include: hormonal problems (low thyroid), seborrhea, alopecia areata, stressful illness. Other causes: genetic male/female pattern baldness, telogen effluvium.

Prednisone/hair los: Hair thinning while on prednisone and hair loss during taper has been noted.It takes a few months f(2-4) or it to resolve.

Losing hair.: We tend to lose 50-150 hairs daily as a norm.  If you feel your hair loss has accelerated, you may wish to visit a a Dermatologist for a scalp examination.  This may lead to some blood testing and a hair analysis.

Yes: Yes, it is normal to lose lots of hair after having a baby.  This is a condition called telogen effluvium. Hormonal changes in the postpartum period & stress can cause this.  It usually resolves without treatment within 6 months. Maintaining a healthy diet and taking a daily multivitamin can be helpful. The best thing to do is give it time.  This is normal:)!  congrats on the new baby.

Do not worry: Stress could cause hair loss, however your anxiety about hair loss is not helping. Nutrition may also be helpful in reducing hair loss both the food you eat and topical application for your hair. Regardless the hair loss is reversible so do not worry.

Stress?: Telogen effluvium is a stage some people go through where they lose large number of hairs but don't have balding spots. Hair grows in cycles. Life events that cause significant stress is usually the trigger. This usually passing with time.

i'm losing a lot of inner hair and the ones at the front and am only 18, i think this is caused by seborrheic dermatitis, is it normal though? and what should i do to prevent/reduce/reverse the effects?

: You should have this evaluated by a dermatologist to treat the seborrheic dermatitis and determine how to treat the hair loss, if needed. Once the seborrheic dermatitis is treated, you will be able to monitor to see if the hair returns. The dermatologist can help with this as well. Good luck to you!

Hair loss: We all lose hair all the time as not all of our hair follicles are active. Women with thick hair may seemingly lose alot. It is not concerning unless it dramatically changes or there is thinning. In that case see your doctor for evaluation.
