what do you advise if i'm losing a lot more hair than normal?

Losing hair.: We tend to lose 50-150 hairs daily as a norm. If you feel your hair loss has accelerated, you may wish to visit a a Dermatologist for a scalp examination. This may lead to some blood testing and a hair analysis.
