What you are describing needs immediate evaluation to make a DX.

You need a full exam, and probably will need a BX of one of the nodes to make a DX

Even though you are feeling fine, and not "sick"--you need to be seen.

See doctor: The symptoms you described are consistent with an infection in the pelvis or left leg. If you are sexually active it could be an indication of a sexually transmitted infection. It would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation and treatment.

have had swollen lymph node on left side of neck for 1 year, rubbery, now more nearby in last 2 months. night sweats last 2 months. is this concerning?

i've taken bactrim for 8 days with no obvious side effects but now i have hives and i've had a swollen lymph node on my left side of my neck and i have been having periodic nerve pain. please, any suggestions would be great.

Allergic reaction.: An allergic reaction to a drug may take several days to appear.  If you are taking no other new meds, then you likely are allergic to Bactrim.  Call the prescribing doctor.  Take 25-50 mg Benadryl, (diphenhydramine) (after reading label to be sure it is something you can take safely).  If you have trouble breathing, swallowing, or chest pain, go to an ER right away.

Blocked tube: Your eustachian tube is blocked, either by the mass effect of the node or something else. If this persists or gets worse, get it seen.

What did Dr say?: For significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician &amp; get a strep throat test &amp; culture. Antibiotics are imperative for Strep Throat.  Try saltwater gargles. Mix tsp of salt in 8 oz of warm water – gargle w this several times/day. You can gargle w Aloe Vera juice a couple of times per day. A mix of chamomile tea w honey &amp; a small amt of lemon juice helps.

Lymph node: You need to see a surgeon quickly. It could be benign but, it is better to make sure.

Depends: Lymph nodes in the neck are the result of inflammation above or near that particular node.  Pimples, eczema, sore throat, ear infections--many things can do it.  But if the node gets larger than an almond and doesn't start shrinking in a couple of weeks, go see an MD (not a nurse practitioner)

Yes??: What's the question? If it doesn't seem to be bothering him you can observe. He may have the beginning of an ear infection or a throat infection but he will let you know by his untoward behavior. At that point you can call back for further guidance if needed.

Feel it.: There are both salivary glands and lymph nodes that can be felt under the jaw on either side.  Lymph nodes are usually, firmer and more rubbery.  It is normal to feel the salivary glands right along the jaw bone.  Either can be tender if there is inflamation.  If structures seem to be enlarged on one side, or pain is consistent, see a doctor as you may need treatment.
