i slipped at work and hit my wrist (fract 3 yrs ago) dull metal. got a small cut. woke up horrible pain throughout arm. is it the cut or the bone? h.

Difficult to say: It's difficult to say without additional diagnostic tests. Any severe pain should prompt a visit to the doctor. Through a combination of obtaining an X-ray and performing a physical examination, your doctor should be able to help determine the source of your pain.

fell biking and smashed my left wrist into ground. now have pain in triquestral bone and small loss of rom. brace and ice enough or do i need xrays?

XRays: You definitely need an xray as some carpal fractures are minimally symptomatic, but left untreated can lead to more serious issues in the future.

had carpal release surgery last yr. but now i have a small lump like a bone sticking out of my wrist, it hurts quite abit but dr says its nothing?

Need exam: Unfortunately this would take a physical examination as well as review of imaging studies to give a real answer, but there could be scar tissue there, or could be just anatomy you hadn't noticed there, or could be a cyst, etc.  Consider a 2nd opinion if you're still concerned.

wrist pain, small bruises on each side. pain when turning, grabbing and lifting. pain shoots up arm like a hit "funny bone". minimal swelling. why?

Ulnar impaction: You might be born with a long ulna. When you move your wrist towards the little finger or load it you bump the wrist into the ulna. You should see a hand surgeon for an exam and x-rays.

3 months ago my hand got hit by a chair. now, after 3 months, there's still a bump there. it's as hard as a bone, sometimes hurts when you touch it or accidentally bump into something with it. what is the bump? how can i get rid of it?

: Did you ever have your hand Xrayed? to check for fractures? It is possible that the bump is the spot where your bond fractured and is remodeling in the healing process. It can also be scar tissue located over a tendon injury or healing tissue over a break in the lymphatic sheath. It can take months or years for scar tissue to soften.

3 year old with hard lump on top of hand feels like a bone. first noticed it a month ago it was very small now  its the size of a pea. any ideas?

Possible ganglion: Sounds like it may be a ganglion , although he is a bit young. Have his pediatrician check it out.

Should go away: Give it a chance, it should get better.  Try taking an anti-inflammatory medicine.

: Occasionally, motions involving weight bearing on your bent forearm (such as pushups, or facilitated standing/moving) can cause the ulnar nerve to slide over the epicondyle of the elbow resulting in a small snap and or tingling sensation. This is worrisome only if it happens multiple times. Try to avoid these motions and let the area heal for at least 6 months.

i recently hit my elbow on the outside bone. i have bruising and swelling above the elbow above where the hit was. my hand is now tingling?

Ulnar nerve: My guess would be that you are feeling the tingling mostly in your little finger perhaps a bit in your ring finger.  The ulnar nerve which supply sensation to this area of the hand passes just inside this "outer" bone (lateral epicondyle) of the elbow.  It will very likely resolve over about 1-2 weeks.  However, if it doesn't you may require further evaluation.

my wrist hurts above the bone if i bend it to the outside, & if i hold stuff palm up. it hurts if i put pressure on it, but it's only in that area. ?

Need exam: If your pain continues see an ors for evaluation. Not sure from your history where your pain is exactly in your wrist, but it could be several different things( tfcc, scapholunate ligament injury, etc).A good physical exam would lead to a diagnosis. Best of luck.
