i realize this is vague but i'm on prescribed vitamin d supplements (50,000 units 1x a week) and this is my second week taking them. so far it seems the day i take them i feel kind of tingly on my right side (around my liver). any thoughts?

Stop Dangerous D2!!!: The 50,000 iu form of D is vitamin D2. I don't know why doctors prescribe this as research shows it increases mortality by 2% whereas vit D3 reduces mortality by 6%. I advise stopping dangerous D2 and taking over-the counterD3- most adults need 5-8, 000 iu/day to achieve optimal levels of 50-80; best to take with Vit K.See

Very Low Vit D: You could take 50, 000 iu/day for a month then recheck vit d level. If it's between 40-60, then start taking 5-10, 000 iu per day.

Vitamin D 1000 and 2000 are inexpensive over the counter without a prescription.

How low?: Vitamin D deficiency interferes with bone and bones become soft if vitamin D and calcium are deficient. Loss of bone calcium gets exaggerated around menopause. You may take what your doctor prescribed or you may take 3000-4000 units of vitamin D3 daily.

Yes : Take your medications as prescribed.  Amoxicillin is an antibiotic used for a short time to treat infections. Make sure you take it completely even if you feel better/ do not skip any doses. Common side effects are stomach upset. Report any dark urine or usual weakness/tiredness to you doctor. Keep visits with doctor to monitor vit d levels.Take medications with full glass of water. Take care.

Probably don't need: There i s much debate regarding how much vitamin d a person needs. Some say below 10 is deficiency, others below 30, while even others say below 40. It is fat soluble vitamin which means it may be stored in fat and not always detectable in the blood. Try wild salmon and fortified foods and don't exceed 1, 000 iu per day. If you don't have any symptoms that should be okay. Try another lab as well.
