Resp. infection: It appears you have a respiratory infection involving your upper and lower resp. systems. I would get an evaluation to make sure that you don't have a fractured rib from all the coughing although it is more likely torn cartilage. I would expect a chest x-ray to be performed. Appropriate treatment can then be rendered.

Get lots of tissues: Cold weather can stimulate release of fluids from the tissues lining the inside of your nose or sinuses, causing runny discharge.  Not a lot you can do about this.

Deaf ear: It is likely that when you coughed you sent secretions up the eustachian tube into your inner ear. The fluid build up in the inner ear prevents the ear drum from vibrating properly causing the altered hearing.

3 days old son (cesarean birth) has stuffy, runny nose. what should i do? can i put any drops for him?

Not necessary...: But you can use a bulb suction device to clear his nostrils. You can also put a drop or two of warm salt water in a nostril and then use the suction device.

Noisy breathing is common in newborns simply because they're nostrils are so small.

i have the most painful flu with  runny nose, what should i take or do. i can't sleep i get all sweaty.

Rest &amp; fluids: Generally resting in bed rest and drinking plenty of fluids is what is necessary to treat the flu. Water, juice and warm fluids are best. In some cases if diagnosed early the flu meds oseltamivir (Tamiflu) or zanamivir (Relenza) may help.  Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others), may help with the pain. I wish you well!

Comfort measures: The average 3yo will have 5 respiratory & 2-3 diarrheal illnesses/yr.Many will have fever/most will self heal. Fever is not the enemy it is a signal that a kids system is trying to make the body too hot for germs to reproduce.It also increases blood flow & allows the immune system to kick in faster. If the kid is hydrated enough to pee every 6 hrs he can wait overnight & be reassessed in the am.

Infection: You may have a bacterial or viral infection.  Start with your Dentist.  Your symptoms can be attributed to infected tooth (teeth).  If your Dentist clears you, the next person to see is your General Physician to evaluate for sinusitis or upper respiratory infection.

my 2 year old granddaughter has a fever along with watery eyes and a runny nose. what should i give her?

Give love and soup!: You don't actually need to give her anything.  If her fever is under 104 and she is drinking ok and not complaining of pain, it is really better to let her run the fever to help fight her infection. With the runny nose, there are not alot of great helpful meds for a 2 y/o.  As helpful is humidity, fluids (good ole chicken soup) and the cuddle of someone to let her know you are there for her.

baby is 2wks old doing green poop 1 a day for 3 days and vomiting at least 2x a day, some runny nose what should i do? he does 4pampers of pee

Accepted Answer

Followup: It isn't clear whether baby is vomiting due to illness or overfeeding. Is baby breastfed or formula fed or both? Color of poop is not alarming- he is also well hydrated given the number of wet diapers. Check your baby's temperature- if it is &gt; 100.4 F followup with your baby's doctor.
