Rest & fluids: Generally resting in bed rest and drinking plenty of fluids is what is necessary to treat the flu. Water, juice and warm fluids are best. In some cases if diagnosed early the flu meds oseltamivir (Tamiflu) or zanamivir (Relenza) may help. Over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB, others), may help with the pain. I wish you well!
