I've been cough so much my sternum area hurts and my lungs. i have a runny nose also. what should i do?

Resp. infection: It appears you have a respiratory infection involving your upper and lower resp. systems. I would get an evaluation to make sure that you don't have a fractured rib from all the coughing although it is more likely torn cartilage. I would expect a chest x-ray to be performed. Appropriate treatment can then be rendered.
