: You can use nasal inhaler Nasonex or Nasacort (OTC) on the same side for a week and try to open the E tube with the maneuver (breathing out forcefully when pinching your nose with closed mouth) frequently while awake. If the symptom does not improve or resolve by then you should see an ENT doctor.

Ear popping: As the plane descends, your Eustachian tubes collapse. When you blew your nose, the force caused the Eustachian tubes to open again. The sound was the air going in again.

hi when when i press on my pinna it hurts on inner ear the pain stated when i was in the shower and i blew my nose and i got a severe pain in my ear ?

Get checked!: Severe ear pain is not normal.  You could have an infection.  Pain to touch often means an infection of the external canal, but not always.  Treatment is needed.  Remember put no Q-tips, bobby pains, paper clips etc   The only thing that you should put in your ear is your elbow or a piano! (An old and honorable and trusty medical truism.) Don't blow your nose hard for now.

Popping: It is either a clogged eustachian tube which runs from to ear to the nose or a swollen TMJ from bruxing so start with your ENT then the dentist if the ENT find s nothing wrong.

used a sinus rinse and when i blew my nose water went in my ear now my hearing is muffled and ear hurts should i be worried?

Accepted Answer

: Give it a couple of days to resolve. If it is not better in a week, or if you develop a discharge from the affected ear, see a doctor.
Sinus and nasal rinses are useless.

: You could have tubes put in your ear drums that would allow any fluid to drain but risk easier germ entry into the middle ear. It would be best to discuss it with an ENT that knows you well. Fixing allergies or other issues could end the fluid buildup.

Viral URI: 3 days of symptoms sounds like a "cold." There is fluid in the eustachian tube due to the nasal congestion and increased mucus. This will likely resolve when the cold resolves but can linger for a couple of weeks afterwards due to residual inflammation

Cold: As you know all cold medicine is unsafe in pregnancy and you should rest, warm fluid, elevate your head when you go to bed. See pcp if symptoms worsen, fever developes.

Numbness: Do you have any other medical issues? Smoke or on hormones? This is not normal so consult with MD to give more detailed information.

Ear infection: It is possible to spread a sinus infection or even a cold to your ears.  I would try to avoid forceful nose blowing, and if the ear pain persists, i would see a doctor as you might benefit from an antibiotic for an ear infection.  Feel better!
