Lo function gonad: This is a term to describe a low functioning gonad be it testicle or ovary. When these organs fail to release their hormones physical changes occur. Men will have low testosterone thus wont shave much if at all , height and weight is altered as well. Females will lack estrogen thus not go into puberty as the men.
These are all bypass able with hormone therapy

Brain hormones: Iether high or low hot=rmones from brain area called the hypothalamus.
Mostly due to low hormones called lh and fsh and easily treated with these hormones.
If due to ovarian (or testicular failure the problem can be serious.

Accepted Answer

Yes: After a complete workup to rule out any serious causes of hypogonadism, which are uncommon, there are either oral or injection medications that can stimulate sperm production.  They are either Clomid (clomiphene) which is oral or injectable gonadotropins with hcg.  Depending on the cause of the hypogonadism other meds may be more appropriate.  You should consult with an endocrinologist.

Several: Impossible to really go into all of them. Essentially, 2 main ways:  either through primary testicular failure where testes are unable to function, or, secondary gonadal failure which results from pituitary/hypothalamic inability to stimulate testes. Anatomical defects, trauma, genetics, etc. Can cause either.

Puberty: If you had hypogonadism as a child you would not go through puberty or only mildly go through it. Men would not grow beards, have strong erections and have small testicles. Women would not ovulate nor produce estrogen thus would not undergo puberty with the associated hair and breast development. 
If its recent you would loose sex drive gain weight, if so blood tests will prove it.

Lots of overlap: Hypogonadism is medical speak for low testosterone. Symptoms are non-specific. In other words, you might have something else if you're depressed, can't think straight, no interest in sex, loss of erectile function, loss of muscle mass, increase in fat, etc. While this can occur in younger men, this constellation of symptoms increases in frequency in our 40s and older. So ask your doctor for testin.

Different causes: May be a problem with the gland that regulates the ovaries or/and testicles: the pituitary gland, or a problem with the ovaries/ testicles. Radiation, chemotherapy, surgeries, some medications, immune conditions, infections, tumors or inflammatory diseases all can potentially cause hypogonadism. If worried, speak with your doctor or seek referral to endocrinologist.

Hypogonadism: I have conductive extensive research on the subject. One of my medical students is currently putting the finishing touches on a ground-breaking paper on this subject. Until it is accepted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal it is merely heresay.  That is my official statement on the matter. Sorry.

Depends: It depends upon the cause of the hypogonadism...If its due to excessive exercise you can cut down on your exercise, if its due to being underweight or having anorexia, counseling and weight gain would help. If its due to something called kallmann's syndrome ( a brain defect)  then no.... Speak to your doctor about your cause and see if they have a natural solution.

Bone loss, ED: There are many symptoms from low testosterone level (ie hypogoandsim). These include hot flashes, irritability, erectile dysfunction, poor sleep, decreased libido (sex-drive) and bone density loss. Many of these symptoms are reversed or halted with appropriate therapy.
