i have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and an implanted pacemaker and defibilator. i was wanting to know if it is okay to get tattoos. not over the icd.

Relatively Benign: A small tattoo should not be a concern.  A tattoo which has some blood loss that is more than 3cc's you may want to postpone or divide into smaller segments.

No good treatment: Really the best option would be to find yourself a very skilled and gentile doctor and scrape the area flat. Now hopefully your skin heals well and does not d keloid. But you never really know. Here you need the art of medicine

Increased risk: If you have a tendency for hypertrophic scarring, the risk is possible after a tattoo.  If you must get a tattoo, first get a small one in an insignificant place on your body.

Most scars do tend: to flatten over time.  If your specialist has recommended any further treatment, such as scar tissue massage, it's important that you do it.  Scar tissue will continue to change for up to one year, so be patient and stick with the program.  Dr. Anne

Accepted Answer

Depends on color: Laser tattoo removal is the safest and most effective method for removing tattoos but effectiveness largely determined by the color/pigment of tattoo used. Black is the easiest color to remove. Green is the most difficult. Red, yellow, orange, exotic, vibrant or fluorescent colors, light or flesh-toned also difficult. Possible to have lightening of the skin, scarring, or residual pigment left.

will getting tattoo removed be more difficult on darker skin?

Accepted Answer

Needs experienced MD: Laser tattoo removal in darker skin requires a lowering of the laser energy ( at times 1/2 or more) and increasing the time between treatments. I prefer a min of 12 weeks and in some cases 20. Black ink is safest but red requires a laser that will likely remove pigment leaving behind lightened skin even white skin where the red ink was. tattoo aftercare: how can i take care of my skin and help it to heal?

Tattoo aftercare: Wash gently with a mild,unscented, antibacterial soap 2-3 times a day, and gently pat dry with a clean towel. Rub a thin layer of Aquaphor over the tattoo after washing. Repeat until completely healed, or the scabbing falls off. DO NOT pick at it. After it's healed, continue care by putting a gentle lotion on daily, like Cetaphil, to keep the skin healthy and the ink looking nice.

i got a tattoo and the skin is bumpy and it's been over a month. it started itching about 2 weeks after. 
i don't know what to put on it.

Allergy?: First keep it clean , possibly a steroid cream however i would make sure its not infected in which it would be hot or warm to touch painful and possibly oozing. If not consider an ink allergy esp in reds but other colors too. If its an allergy se a dermatologist you CAN NOT laser off an allergic tattoo

can i go to the beach 3 days before i get a tattoo or should i wait until after i get a tattoo and its healed, i dont want it to ruin ny skin?
