Weight gain: Weight and BMI tell you nothing about the ratio of fat to lean body mass in your body. Obesity is excessive body fat and to determine this you need to measure your body composition. There are some inexpensive scales that use bioelectrical impedance to measure body composition and these readings give you a rough estimate of your body composition. Looking muscular is a good sign.

? new  ?? not new: Many times a person finds "new things" on her body when something else is going on that focuses new attention there such as starting a workout program.This lump may have been there a long time. It is most likely related to a previous or current skin infection in the vulvar/pelvic area. Make sure you don't have current signs of infection,apply moist heat, see doc if lump persists after 7-10 days.

i underwent laproscopic repair for scrotal inguinal hernia in march 2013. recently i started gymming with light weights, and i notice a bulge. help?

Surgery: You need to discuss your activity level with your surgeon in regard to a bulge that could represent a recurrence of your hernia.

i had endoscopy last month it showed lax les, can i go to gym and do some weight lifting exercises. please suggest?

Doesn't mean: That you can't exercise, though be aware for some exercise may precipitate "heartburn" related discomfort.  If this is the case with you avoid eating too close to working out, avoid exercise that seem to set of heartburn in you and you may need to review anti-secretory medications with your doctors.

weight loss: Weight loss is a gradual process and should be done safely over the course of months.  Exercise is a good adjunct to health eating.  However, it will take time.  A pound of fat is 3500 calories.  A deficit of 500 calories a day, either through eating less or execising more, will result in a pound of weight loss a week.

TIME AND EFFORT: Losing weight at the gym will depend on the type of machines you are using and the amount of effort exerted or calories burned as a result of such effort. For example, you may use a machine for cardio to burn calories one day and alternate with machines to build muscle the next day. 30 minutes of intense exercise at 4x weekly (or more) is recommended for best results. Combine with a healthy diet.

Your history: Breathing, pain, and heart pounding issues.  Better get cleared by your doc before you work out.  Cross training is best, some cardio ; some aerobic after being cleared.  Your medications suggest that you are a bit anxious.  Stretching, yoga, and my favorite qigong, can make for a balanced program.  Peace and good health.

Avoid contact, flexs: using certain exercise machines that put pressure right on the cubital tunnel can cause aggravation of ulnar neuritis. If you have subluxation of the nerve then exercises involving repetitive flexion and extension could also aggravate your problem. Ask an orthopedic specialist regarding these potential issues and he can recommend physical therapy to guide you along.

Cardio Mix: If you have adipose tissue to lose (not everyone does), then consider an increase in cardio & a balanced diet. However, do not always do the same exercise or you will increase your risks for stress injuries. Mix things up with walking, running, biking, swimming, elliptical, or circuit training. Ultimately you need to burn more than you consume.

Elliptical and stair: The elliptical uses arms and legs and is a total body workout. You can burn aerobic calories which burns fat and helps you to lose weight. The stairclimbers are also challenging. You can also loose weight using a treadmill with varying inclines. Interval training, where you alternate the degree of challenge, results in increased calories lost by your metabolism.
