Good home care: The best thing anyone can do to help try to prevent cavities in their teeth is to brush thoroughly at least twice a day(morning and night before sleep).  Floss daily and do make regular visits to the dentists.  The dentist also has thing he can do to help keep healthy...Like sealants.

: Any sugar free gum or mints are good. ADA approval is meaningless if you don't practice good oral hygiene and brush, floss and maintain a healthy diet. Chewing the gum helps remove some of the bacteria that causes cavities, but the gum alone is not the answer. A complete healthy lifestyle is what is necessary.

should you rinse with xylitol before brushing teeth so if you have an acidic mouth (like me) you aren't brushing acid into teeth?

: IF you have an acidic saliva content in mouth rinse with a combination of   Water and Hydrogen Peroxide also brush with a little baking soda, all will lower the acid content. To prevent cavities brush and floss.

Floss, brush, dentis: Besides flossing , brushing ad seeing your dentist every 4 to 6 month, make sure your tooth paste has fluoride. 
Diet is also important . Avoid drinks that have hidden sugar like gatterade and various fruite juice or soft drinks, and sugar.

I : I believe you are asking if sealing a filling will help if a new cavity has formed underneath an old  filling. If there is new decay, usually the old filling will need to be removed so that the underlying decay can be treated.

Either: Since once it goes in your mouth it gets wet, it really doesn' t matter. Some people like to rinse their brush under hot water to soften the bristles first. Ne need for this if you are using a soft brush, which is recommended. Hard brushes are best used for cleaning golf clubs, bathroom tile grout, and the grooves on the soles of your shoes.

Decay: Monitor closely. Eliminate soda, sugar products, brush after every meal, have Fluoride drops or lozenge if not in your water, regular check-ups at the dentist with Fluoride treatments.

: I don't think either accomplishes these. I've seen instances of severe swelling and infection following these procedures and caution people with immunosuppression to think carefully about having these treatments and obtain a second  opinion to ensure that they are truly advisable. Prophylactic antibiotics would be indicated in these patients.

Diet, oral hygiene: There are thing that you  can do to prevent cavities.  First, oral hygiene.  Brushing and flossing are critical.  At least twice a day with soft toothbrush.   Next, diet.  Avoid sugary and acidic foods and especially drinks.  Third, routine dental care and teeth cleanings.
