Avoid alcohol, sweetened juices, soda &amp; caffeinated beverages.  Aim for 7.5 to 8 hrs of sleep / night. Hydrate w at least 64 oz of water / day. Calories burned must &gt; calories consumed.  Do both cardio &amp; weight training.

Foods to help w healthy weight gain: almonds, cashews, pecans, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, walnuts, hummus, avocados, granola, trail mix, dried fruits, extra virgin olive oil ; canola oil.

See PCP first.: See your pcp first and eliminate other reasons for being underweight, like hormone tests including thyroid tests and if you have a true eating disorder he can then refer you to a psychiatrist, endocrinologist or gastroenterologist.
