Elemental formula: Either neocate or elecare.  Both of these are elemental formulas that are made up of Amino Acids without the cow's milk or soy protein.

Depends on situation: Some folks prefer the bovine protein as more human like & there is some question whether the soy lives up to its quality. That said, most kids would never have any appreciable difference in growth/development either way.The exception comes if a kid is intolerant to one. If so, the other product or a specialty formula like alumentum  would be less likely to cause GI symptoms.

my baby 5 months old and found to be allergic to cow milk protein so drinks aptamil pepti. how can i choose right formula after he is 6 months? should i continue anti allergic formula? is it possible he outgrow the allergy and have regular formula?

: True cow milk ALLERGY is rare, and the infant would NOT be expected to outgrow. It can be DEADLY if unrecognized and reintroduction may lead to serious events. INTOLERANCE to cow-milk-based formulas is relatively common &amp; the infant could become cow-milk tolerant when older. It is best to work with your doc to find out the proper label.

Hard to comment: True bovine milk allergy is rare &amp; only ~1/3 infants with eczema have a food associated allergy. No description of the rash was provided, so attributing it to the formula may not be valid. Any allergy induced rash can take weeks to clear even if it was due to the time needed for the offending material to exit the body &amp; time for skin recovery.

my 15 month old baby who is on soy based formula has suddenly developed eczema , the doctor advised to switch to soy because he is allergic to cows milk.soy milk appears to be the problem now, should i switch back to cows milk?

Soy allergy: Very often milk and soy allergies are co-existent. Please discuss the use of a hypoallergenic formula and food allergy CAP testing with your pediatrician. Skin care includes avoiding immersion in water, use of a baby eczema cream several times daily and a low dose steroid cream twice daily.

Milk: Most doctors recommend breast feeding until 1 year, if not formula, then whole milk after 1 year, low fat milk at 2 years.  Lactaid is only needed if your child is lactose intolerant or if you have a strong family history of lactose intolerance.

Maybe: From what I understand in the packaging of shelf-stable milk such as Tetra pack, there is no additional preservatives.  The milk is ultra-pasteurized, and the packaging is sterile, allowing long-term storage without refrigeration.  However, it is not recommended to start cow's milk products until your baby is at least 1 year old.

Be wary of boosters: Many supplements, foods, herbs, other plants, and techniques are claimed to "boost" the immune system, but none have been proven effective. The immune system is complex, and "boosting" it to make it act stronger is not always a good thing. In conditions like arthritis, thyroid disease, diabetes type 1, lupus, eczema, etc..., the immune system is over-acting and damaging the patient's own organs.

Elemental formulas: For those who become intolerant to bovine and soy protein, there are elemental formulas that contain predigested proteins that work. You can find one (alumentum, alumentum ready to feed, nutramagen, elecare).All are expensive  but after 4-6 weekss on one, the gut may heal enough to tolerate other foods. Work with your ped to find one that works for your kid.All are difficult.

Usually Not: There is a difference between dairy allergy and lactose intolerance. Dairy allergy is an immune mediated reaction against various milk proteins. Lactose intolerance is simply the lack of an enzyme to breakdown the lactose in all dairy products.
