what happens if i go tanning with a scar on my face?

Nothing good: Sun tanning or burning should be avoided as long as a scar is immature (that is, pink.) the immature scar will be susceptible to burning and, if tanned, may be tanned permanently. Use a sunscreen with an spf number of 15 or higher and reapply liberally and frequently. Too much sun exposure is not good for normal skin, either.

Yes: You can just apply it thinner and rub it in a little better.  Or, you can switch to something that works better, like scarguard.

Scar Tissue: You most likely have what is called an irritant dermatitis cause by the topical medication. Try mederma or kelocote which are both used to help reduce scar tissue.

Either one: Most doctors whom I know recommend Mederma. Both medicines have the same purpose. They are not expensive. Try one and see how it works

Acne: It is very hard not to touch/squeeze/abuse pimples.  Toothpaste probably didn't make things worse.  A pimple is a pocket of inflammation; after it heals it can be darker or sometimes lighter than the surrounding skin.  This can take a long time to fade.   You should not worry, although you may be self conscious.  It will get better.

i have 4 pigmented scars on my face. would silicone gel(dermatix) work for these scars. one is slightly hypertrophic.

Probably not: Sometimes we can inject the raised one with a steroid. For the darker marks there are a few options. It is best to see a dermatologist. In the meantime sun protection is essential.
