Gums decaying: there is really no term called gums decaying . Periodontitis is gum disease with a verity of stages and treatments. Teeth can still look clean but gum disease still present. You need to be diagnosed by your dentist to determine the stage of gum disease you have and what options for treatment you have. Think of it like blood pressure or diabetes you can't see it but in time more issues will rise.

You would need : To have the covering gingival tissue removed to adequately access the decay.  Can be via a laser, electrosurgery or scalpel.  Laser is usually the cleanest and least painful way.  Hope this helps.

Sure, but: At age 28 - you should try to maintain your teeth well and try to keep them for your lifetime.  It may be too late to save this tooth, but routine dentistry is an inexpensive way to help prolong your life as studies have shown the people with teeth live longer than those without.   You do not want to get dentures!

the thought behind the question sounds like, "i'll just chew tobacco until i get gum decay, then stop."  this just sounds like a huge gamble with your health.  Don't do it!

my frenulum connects beneathe my teeth its pulling my gums away and not giving nutrients to them what should i do so no decaying occurs?

Frenum: If your mandibular lingual frenum, the tag of tissue that connects the underside of your tongue to the gums behind your bottom front teeth, is too short it can damage the gum tissue, causing detachment and/or recession.  See your Dentist.  Referral to a Periodontist (gum specialist) or Oral Surgeon is in order to ameliorate the damage.

Not necessarily: Replacement would be indicated if there was an open margin, decay, or aesthetics were an issue. Was the tooth examined by your dentist? Only they can determine if the margins are intact.

for a year or so, a tooth has decayed and the sides broken off. on eating nuts today i now have a lump on my gum (inside)  under the tooth. what is it?

Check out the lump!: It sounds like this problem has been going on for some time and it will not get better on its own!  at this point the lump is telling you that the decay in the tooth is spreading, and needs to be addressed if you are going to be able to save the tooth and stop the infection from spreading further.  It may already be too late to save the tooth, but you don't want the infection to ruin the bone.
