Ingrown toenail: Most ingrown toenails will not heal by them self without treatment. Soaking the toe in epsom salts an warm water may help to alleviate the discomfort but you should see your podiatrist for further evaluation if the area is red and swollen.

Depends on treatment: If you do not seek treatment, then could take a long time to heal. With treatment, the 'fix' could be as little as a day or two or as much as a month or so. Usually this is an office procedure, but this is based on the severity of the problem and your general medical condition.

See below: Try soaking in warm soapy water and then use a cuticle stick to push the skin away from the nail. Try to put a small piece of cotton under the nail edge.  Apply antiseptic and bandaid.  Do this daily for several days.

If treated properly: A minor problem will heal quickly.  If you're talking about a 'permanent' correction (matrixectomy), then it will take a few weeks.  There is typically very little in the way of disability, though.
