Yes: However, a joint is sprained.  There are many joints in the arm, shoulder, elbow, wrist, fingers and thumb.  Usually only one of two joints are sprained at a time.  Those injures joints are swollen and painful to move.  Sometimes, when it is injured enough, you cannot use the joint.  At times, immobilization is needed for healing.

: It depends upon the degree of ligamental sprain. A very severe wrist sprain may take months to fully heal. Less severe pigmented wrist sprains take 1 to  6 weeks. Wearing a wrist brace for another week or so may help you. I agree with warm compresses a few times per day. Some prefer alternating cold with warm compresses.

i sneezed and suddenly felt stiffness and pain in neck and back. should i see a doctor or let it heal with time? it has been a week and is better but not fully. no arm or numbness. i'm sure i sprained or pulled something when sneezed and still sore.

Time can heal: It sounds like the sneeze clearly strained something &amp; started the pain, &amp; the fact that it is improving is a good sign.  If you continue to improve slowly but surely &amp; continue to have normal strength in arms &amp; hands without numbness it is reasonable to give more time. Persistent swelling: Have it checked. It may be a cyst or foreign body as well as trauma. Your doctor should recognize the cause. All the best.

Couple of weeks: It sounds like you strained some muscles in
the cervical spine, upper back and arm
with rest, ice and possibly nsaids, you should
improve over 1-2 weeks.

Need physical therap: This may be a common problem with humeral fracture’s. You need intense physical therapy as well as reevaluation
