 Reach a healthy weight. If you need to lose weight, be sure to do so slowly (no more than 1 to 2 pounds a week).Quick weight loss from crash diets, surgery, or medicine increases inflammation and scarring in your liver.  Exercise regularly.
Check with your doctor, metabolic syndrome also puts you at risk and should be treated if you have it.

Fatty liver damage is a serious health complication, usually due to taking in too many calories compared to what a patient needs for normal life. Obesity is a serious health complication due to the same cause, taking in too many calories compared to what a person needs. The cure is conceptually simple (stop the excess intake) but hard to do.
